Pakistani rupee stands defiant against US dollar in interbank

KARACHI: The Pakistani rupee recorded a meagre gain against the US dollar in interbank market on Friday.

According to figures collected from money traders, the local currency rose in value by 67 paisas against the greenback and was currently being traded at Rs284.50.

On Thursday, the Pakistani rupee had registered a marginal gain against the US dollar, settling for the day at Rs285.17.

In a related development, the total liquid foreign exchange reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) increased by $77 million to $7.257 billion during the week ended November 24, 2023.
