Pakistani Passports Have Advanced Security Features, NA Told

Pakistan’s National Assembly was informed on Wednesday that Pakistani passports are equipped with international security features, making them impossible to forge.

Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhary, during the Question Hour, stated that strict measures have been implemented against human smugglers, with Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) officers found involved in trafficking being removed from service.

Parliamentary Secretary for Defence Zeb Jaffer briefed the House on aviation developments, mentioning that Gwadar International Airport is operating under an open sky policy to enhance international flight operations and connectivity. She assured that the Civil Aviation Authority is dedicated to assisting airline operators in initiating flights to and from Gwadar.

PIA has recently started international flight operations between Gwadar and Oman, Jaffer informed. She further highlighted that refueling facilities for international flights have been made available at Gwadar International Airport.

Regarding infrastructure projects, she disclosed that the upgradation and expansion of Begum Nusrat Bhutto Airport in Sukkur is in the planning phase. She revealed that the PC-1 for the project, with an estimated cost of forty billion rupees, has been prepared.
