ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York Munir Akram on Monday said the holy month of Ramazan teaches us compassion, patience and to remain steadfast against hardships and calamities.
In a message on the eve of Ramzan to Muslim community at the UN, the Ambassador said Ramazan is a month of exchanging gestures of compassion and empathy. He said it is a time for reflection, self-purification and learning. It is also a time to look after those in need and to uplift one another.
Munir Akram also expressed condolences to Muslim brothers and sisters who lost their loved ones, and their homes in natural calamities, that affected Pakistan, Turkiye, and other parts of the world. He paid homage to the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) as well as Palestinians who have continuously been living through the yoke of the occupation. The Ambassador also extended gratitude to the UN peacekeepers who are working diligently in difficult circumstances.
