Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, commenced a significant official trip to Dhaka on Saturday, marking a pivotal moment in bilateral relations. The two-day visit, spanning August 23rd and 24th, 2025, comes at the invitation of the Bangladeshi government.

Upon arrival at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, the distinguished Pakistani official was greeted by a delegation of high-ranking diplomats. The welcoming party included Bangladesh’s Foreign Secretary, Ambassador Asad Alam Siam, along with the Pakistani High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Imran Haider. Also present were the Bangladeshi envoy to Pakistan, Muhammad Iqbal Khan, and representatives from the Pakistan High Commission.

Senator Dar’s itinerary includes crucial engagements with key members of the Bangladeshi administration. Scheduled meetings with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, Foreign Affairs Adviser Mr. Md. Touhid Hossain, and Commerce Adviser Mr. SK Bashir Uddin will cover a wide array of topics. Discussions will encompass bilateral partnerships, regional affairs, and global matters of shared concern.
