SIALKOT:Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said the government will complete its term next month and he will leave before the end of the term while due to the IMF agreement, the dollar rate has come down.
Speaking at the Government College Women University Sialkot, the prime minister said in that year’s budget, money had been allocated for one lakh laptops.
“Petroleum prices had not been reduced because of the reduction of POL prices in the international market, but because of the strengthening of the rupee. If the economy is strong, we will not have to take loans,” he underlined.
He further said it was a pleasure to meet the talented girls of Pakistan. “The provision of laptops to female students under the Prime Minister Youth Program is an acknowledgment of their ability. Yes, this is not a favor, you are given these laptops on merit, no region or recommendation is taken into consideration,” the PM highlighted.
He said Pakistan would be made a great nation by following the policy of merit and the world had achieved the glory under this policy.
“The project of distribution of laptops was also initiated in 2011 and on merit in other provinces except Punjab. Laptops were also given to the students, as the Chief Minister of Punjab, I thought for other provinces as well because this way Pakistan can make progress,” he remembered.
The PM said there were difficulties in the import of other essential raw-materials for industry, but it was known that the students had to be provided with the necessary facilities, so we imported these laptops by providing 45 million dollars.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif further said five billion rupees had been allocated in budget for the empowerment of women. “Women in the world are involved in the journey of development and prosperity alongside men,” he added.
Shehbaz Sharif said they signed an agreement with the IMF, as a result of which the rupee became stable, due to which the prices of petroleum products were reduced and the people were relieved.
“Labor is the basic condition for development in every sector including IT, textile, we will be gone before the government term is over and the new interim government will take over,” he concluded.
