Pakistan and the United States today pledged to bolster bilateral ties, focusing on counterterrorism, border management, and drug enforcement.

This accord was reached during a discussion between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and US Counterterrorism Coordinator Gregory LoGerfo in Islamabad.

Both nations also concurred to improve information sharing on counterterrorism and anti-narcotics initiatives.

Naqvi lauded the significant progress in Pakistan-US relations since the start of the Trump administration. He praised former President Trump’s dedication to international peace, emphasizing transparency, mutual faith, and collaboration as the foundations of their bilateral partnership.

Naqvi described the US decision to label the outlawed Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and Majeed Brigade as foreign terrorist groups as praiseworthy, anticipating fruitful outcomes from joint counterterrorism efforts.

LoGerfo recognized Pakistan’s geostrategic significance and offered sympathies for the victims of terrorist incidents. Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, Acting US Ambassador Natalie Baker, and the Federal Interior Secretary attended the meeting.
