Pakistan To Train 3 Million IT Professionals As Government Targets Digital Investment

Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja has announced that the government will train three million individuals in the IT sector over the next three years to support digital growth and attract foreign direct investment.

During a briefing with foreign diplomats, the Minister highlighted that significant investment opportunities exist in Pakistan’s IT sector. She noted that incentives are being offered to IT firms, urging them to take full advantage of the government’s facilitation.

She informed participants that infrastructure development for IT companies is a current priority, alongside equipping the youth with relevant digital skills.

Shaza Fatima pointed out that Pakistan now ranks as the third largest community of freelancers globally, underscoring the country’s growing digital workforce.

She further shared that the Digital Foreign Direct Investment 2025 Forum is scheduled for April 29-30. The event will focus on showcasing Pakistan’s potential in the digital economy to international investors.

She concluded that the recent improvement in economic indicators reflects the government’s policy direction and its focus on the digital sector.
