Pakistan to Lead Charge Against Misinformation at D-8 Media Forum

In a significant move to tackle the growing global challenge of disinformation, Pakistan is set to present a robust framework for fact-based reporting and joint digital media strategies at the D-8 Media Forum, which commenced today in the Azerbaijani capital.

According to official information today, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar is representing the nation at the high-level gathering, attending on an official invitation from the Government of Azerbaijan.

The summit aims to cultivate deeper collaboration among the D-8 member states, serving as a platform for sharing professional expertise and exploring new avenues for mutual cooperation within the information and media landscape.

During the proceedings, Minister Tarar will articulate Pakistan’s perspective on strengthening media partnerships among the participating countries.

A central focus of his address will be the promotion of verified, factual journalism to counteract the spread of false narratives and the development of unified strategies to navigate the complexities of the modern digital media environment.
