Tokyo: The Embassy of Pakistan in Japan hosted the 'Pakistan Rice Experience - Aroma and Grain of Pakistan' at the FOODEX Japan 2026 in Tokyo today to highlight the scope and potential of Pakistan's rice.
According to Radio Pakistan, the event brought together Japanese importers, trading houses, food industry representatives, and culinary professionals. It provided an opportunity for Japanese stakeholders to evaluate Pakistani rice varieties and engage directly with exporters visiting Japan.
In his remarks at the event, Ambassador Abdul Hameed highlighted Pakistan's position as a reliable supplier of rice to global markets. He emphasized the importance of strengthening commercial linkages between Pakistan's agricultural exporters and Japan's food industry.
The Ambassador said Pakistan remains committed to working closely with its trading partners to ensure stable supply and to contribute positively to broader food security through reliable exports.
It is pertinent to mention that Pakistani Basmati rice, known for its distinctive aroma and cooking performance, is widely used in international cuisine and is increasingly recognized by buyers in Japan's hospitality and food service sectors.
