Pakistan Sets Sights on High-Level Economic Collaborations at Davos Summit

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar on Tuesday directed senior officials to maximise Pakistan’s engagement with global leaders and financial institutions during the Prime Minister’s forthcoming visit to the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Switzerland, placing a strong emphasis on fostering private sector collaborations.

The directive was issued during a high-level briefing session held in Islamabad, convened to oversee the preparations for the Prime Minister”s participation in the 56th annual WEF meeting.

Mr Dar was briefed on the tentative programme and agenda for the global forum by the Foreign Secretary and Pakistan”s Permanent Representative to Geneva, along with other senior officials.

The session also included a detailed discussion on the bilateral component of the visit and the extensive media engagements scheduled to take place.

The Deputy Prime Minister further stressed that opportunities should be explored to cultivate partnerships with private sector business entities during the high-profile gathering.

The annual WEF meeting is scheduled to be held in Davos-Klosters from the 19th to the 23rd of next month under the theme of “A Spirit of Dialogue.”
