Turkiye today assured Pakistan that it will favorably review its proposals during the upcoming round of trade negotiations, signaling a significant step toward expanding bilateral economic engagement between the two nations.

According to a statement issued from PID today, the commitment was made during a high-level meeting between Federal Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, and his Turkish counterpart, Minister of Trade Prof. Dr. Omer Bolat. The discussion was held on the sidelines of the 41st Session of the COMCEC.

Prof Dr. Bolat expressed his government’s strong desire to enhance commercial ties with Pakistan, confirming that Islamabad’s proposals would be given positive consideration in future talks.

Minister Khan briefed the Turkish official on economic reforms being implemented by the Government of Pakistan under Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. He highlighted measures designed to improve efficiency and transparency to bolster investor confidence, positioning Pakistan as a promising destination for Turkish investment across multiple sectors.

During the dialogue, Prof. Dr. Bolat extended an invitation to Minister Khan to attend the upcoming Halal Expo in Istanbul, which begins on November 25, emphasizing the potential for deeper cooperation in halal trade and related industries.

Both sides concluded by reaffirming their dedication to strengthening the existing partnership and exploring new avenues for collaboration in trade, investment, and industrial development, reflecting the close relations between the two countries.
