Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening defence and security cooperation, emphasizing joint efforts to address regional security challenges.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman expressed this resolve during their meeting in Jeddah. The Prime Minister was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Chief of the Army Staff General Asim Munir, and Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz.
Both leaders reviewed the growing economic collaboration between the two nations. The Prime Minister acknowledged Saudi Arabia’s commitment to increasing investments in key sectors, recognizing its role in Pakistan’s economic growth and stability.
Discussions also covered the evolving regional and geopolitical landscape. The two leaders agreed to coordinate efforts at all levels to advance their shared vision for peace, stability, and prosperity.
The Saudi Crown Prince acknowledged the contributions of the Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia and agreed to enhance measures for their welfare. Both sides stressed the need to strengthen people-to-people ties, cultural exchanges, and educational collaboration.
The leaders reiterated their commitment to elevating Pakistan-Saudi Arabia ties, guided by mutual respect, shared interests, and a vision for progress.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif described his meeting with the Saudi Crown Prince as productive, stating that discussions focused on expanding cooperation in trade, investment, energy, and security.
In a post on his social media account, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the Saudi Crown Prince for the Kingdom’s consistent support to Pakistan. He highlighted that their partnership is advancing towards a mutually beneficial economic collaboration.
He also acknowledged the Saudi Crown Prince’s role in peace efforts in the Middle East and Ukraine.
