Pakistan Reaffirms Support for Kashmiri Self-Determination at UN Ceremony


New York: Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the UN, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, has emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to supporting the right to self-determination for Kashmiris. Speaking at a Pakistan Day ceremony held at the Pakistani Mission in New York, Ahmad highlighted the importance of embracing the lessons and values of Pakistan’s founding fathers. He paid tribute to the sacrifices made by Pakistan’s armed forces and law enforcement agencies, who continue to serve diligently.



According to Radio Pakistan, Ahmad stressed Pakistan’s desire for peaceful and friendly relations with its neighbors, but he also underscored the grave human rights violations occurring in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He reiterated Pakistan’s moral, political, and diplomatic responsibility to back the Kashmiri people’s pursuit of self-determination, pledging continued advocacy for their fundamental rights.



Ahmad also affirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination, aligning this stance with the country’s broader commitment to human rights and international justice.
