Pakistan offers US to invest in solar energy projects

ISLAMABAD: US Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome called on Federal Minister for Power Engineer Khurram Dastagir Khan, here on Tuesday.

The federal minister welcomed US ambassador Donald Blome and said that his appointment of him is a step in the right direction for Pakistan-US relations. He emphasized the importance of joint efforts to enhance the bilateral partnerships between Pakistan and the United States of America.

Khurram Dastagir invited American companies to participate in the current government’s solar energy projects. In line with the government’s commitment to reduce dependence on imported fuel, the solar policy will be rolled out next month.

The US ambassador expressed his best wishes for the future of Pakistan-US relations and reiterated the need to strengthen relations on a broader basis. US ambassador Donal Blome said that there is immense potential in the private sector in Pakistan. He said America is deeply interested in investment and cooperation in energy, agriculture and the digital sector.
