A forthcoming visit by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic to Pakistan, the first in two decades, is poised to significantly advance cooperation in trade, connectivity, and parliamentary exchanges, it was revealed during a high-level meeting here on Tuesday.

According to an official report today, the development was highlighted during discussions between the Convener of the Pakistan-Kyrgyz Republic Parliamentary Friendship Group (PFG), Mr. Rana Iradat Sharif Khan, and the Kyrgyz Ambassador to Pakistan, H.E. Kylychbek Sultan, at the Parliament House.

Welcoming the Kyrgyz envoy, the Convener underscored the deep-rooted fraternal relations between the two nations, which he noted are founded on shared history, cultural affinity, and mutual goodwill.

Both dignitaries stressed the importance of bolstering inter-parliamentary linkages, including enhanced coordination between their respective friendship groups once the electoral process and reconstitution of the Kyrgyz Parliament are complete.

Ambassador Sultan confirmed that the visiting President”s itinerary will also include a formal meeting with the Honourable Speaker of the National Assembly.

The talks also touched upon growing people-to-people connections, with the Convener pointing to the strong presence of Pakistani students in Kyrgyz educational institutions. The Ambassador expressed a reciprocal interest in having Kyrgyz students explore educational opportunities within Pakistan.

The officials concluded by agreeing to maintain close engagement and to arrange a dedicated future meeting between the Ambassador and the full Parliamentary Friendship Group at a mutually convenient time.
