Pakistan-Iran Trade Expansion to $10 Billion Discussed

Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi has said that Sindh is an ideal destination for investment and industrial development, and investors from Iran and other countries are being provided with all possible facilities.

According to a statement from the Sindh Governor House, he expressed these views during a meeting at Governor House with Iran’s Consul General Akbar Eissa Zadeh and a joint Pakistan-Iran delegation. The Iranian delegation included Chabahar Free Zone Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Saeed Arbabi, Deputy Governor of Sistan and Balochistan Mujtaba Hassani, and other senior officials, while the Pakistani side included representatives of the Gwadar Chamber of Commerce and Industry and members of the business community.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on promoting Pakistan-Iran trade, economic cooperation, and investment opportunities. Both sides agreed to further accelerate efforts to increase bilateral trade volume from $3 billion to $10 billion.

The meeting also emphasized the establishment of a Pakistan-Iran Joint Chamber of Commerce and strengthening coordination with the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI). Governor Sindh Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi assured full governmental support in this regard.

Iran’s Consul General said that new opportunities for regional connectivity and trade are emerging through land, air, and ferry services between Pakistan and Iran, while the Chabahar and Gwadar ports can become major centers of economic growth in the region.
