Pakistan, Iran agree to enhance cooperation to combat extremism

Pakistan and Iran have agreed to enhance cooperation in combating extremism and promoting interfaith harmony.

This was expressed at a meeting between Iranian Ambassador Dr. Amiri Moghadam and Minister of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Chaudhry Salik Hussain in Islamabad today.

During the meeting, various proposals were discussed to eliminate terrorism and sectarianism.

Chaudhry Salik Hussain stressed the need for dialogue between religions and cultures to establish peace in the world.

The meeting agreed to further enhance economic, trade, and cultural relations between Pakistan and Iran.

The Iranian Ambassador invited Chaudhry Salik Hussain to participate in the forthcoming International Quran Conference to be held in Iran next month.
