Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, Syed Tariq Fatemi, engaged in pivotal discussions with US officials, emphasizing the importance of enhancing trade and investment connections between Pakistan and the United States.
During his visit to Washington D.C., Fatemi interacted with influential figures, including Acting Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Lisa Kenna and National Security Council Senior Director Ricky Gill. In addition, he conferred with Congressman Gregory Meeks, Congressman Bill Huizenga, and Senator Jim Banks to bolster bilateral relations.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, participated in these discussions, which were characterized by a focus on economic priorities. Fatemi underscored the progress in Pakistan’s economic indicators, acknowledged by the IMF and the World Bank, as a testament to the country’s positive economic trajectory.
Fatemi emphasized that trade and investment are pivotal aspects of Pak-US ties, highlighting the significant potential to enhance economic relations. Such advancements, he noted, promise benefits for businesses in both nations and a broader positive impact on regional economies.
