Pakistan’s Ambassador to Iran, Muhammad Mudassir Tipu, has reiterated a call for a resolution to the long-standing Kashmir conflict in accordance with United Nations resolutions, describing the territory as being under “illegal occupation for decades” during a Kashmir Solidarity Day event on Thursday.

Speaking at a ceremony organised at the Pakistani Embassy, Ambassador Tipu affirmed his country”s unwavering political, moral, and diplomatic support for the Kashmiri people. He stressed that a timely and just solution, aligned with the aspirations of the Kashmiris, would help mitigate their suffering.

The event also featured the reading of messages from Pakistan’s President, Asif Ali Zardari, and Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, reinforcing the official state position on the issue.

Attendees were shown a detailed documentary intended to highlight the alleged atrocities committed by Indian forces and the hardships faced by the populace in Indian-held Kashmir.

A photographic exhibition was also arranged at the embassy to visually underscore the day”s solidarity message.
