Pakistan has accused India of withholding comprehensive flood data despite diplomatic requests, and has urged Afghanistan to address terrorist safe havens within its borders. Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan, briefing the press on Friday, stated that while some flood information was shared, crucial details were omitted.

Khan emphasized the need for Afghanistan to prevent its territory from being used for attacks against Pakistan, asserting that terrorist sanctuaries persist. He affirmed Pakistan’s resolve to protect its citizens, citing recent counter-terrorism operations in border areas.

Regarding Afghan nationals awaiting relocation to Germany, Khan urged Berlin to expedite their transfer, referencing a German Foreign Ministry statement on the matter. He also strongly denounced Israeli strikes in Khan Younis, alleging the targeting of hospitals and journalists and condemning Israel’s human rights record.

Khan highlighted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s successful visit to China for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, where Sharif met with President Xi Jinping and other world leaders. The Prime Minister’s condemnation of Israeli aggression in Gaza during the visit was also noted.

At the SCO platform, Sharif advocated for constructive engagement with Kabul, addressing the Afghan situation. Meetings with the presidents of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Iran also took place, with the Iranian meeting reaffirming bilateral ties. Pakistan and Russia stressed enhanced cooperation on regional and bilateral matters. The Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to the SCO’s vision of regional collaboration and condemned Israeli aggression in Gaza and Iran.
