Islamabad: Pakistan has strongly condemned the persecution of Hurriyet leader Yasin Malik by India. At the weekly news briefing in Islamabad, Foreign Office Spokesperson Sajjad Haider Khan urged the UN and other human rights and humanitarian bodies to take cognizance of Yasin Malik's situation, his health, and the systematic denial of fundamental rights in the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Radio Pakistan, Sajjad Haider Khan criticized the Indian judicial system following Yasin Malik's affidavit concerning a charge from 1990, describing it as a tool for oppressing Kashmiri people. He highlighted the deteriorating health of Yasin Malik as a significant concern, calling on the international community to prevent India from compromising his life and well-being to further its occupation agenda. Khan stated that Pakistan will continue to bring attention to Malik's case and the broader human rights situation in IIOJK at the UN and other international platforms, asserting that the Kashmiri right to self-determination cannot be suppressed by India.

The spokesperson also condemned the demolition of Islamic holy places in India, urging the international community to address the persecutions against Muslims and the destruction of their places of worship.

In response to questions, Khan reiterated Pakistan's support for Saudi Arabia's sovereignty and its commitment to peace in the region. He discussed the Makkah Defence Alliance, emphasizing its defensive nature and its role in strengthening regional peace and stability.

Khan stated that Pakistan does not wish to be part of any geopolitical contestation, maintaining strong relations with the USA, China, and Russia. He stressed Pakistan's commitment to the Global Governance Initiative and its readiness to collaborate with China and other nations to advance this initiative.
