Pakistan condemns antagonistic statements by Indian leadership, reaffirms commitment to peace

Pakistan has strongly condemned a series of antagonistic remarks made by Indian political leaders, including statements from Bihar, and the Spokesperson of India’s Ministry of External Affairs on May 29, calling them reflective of a mindset that prioritizes hostility over regional peace.

Responding to media queries in a statement here on Monday, the Foreign Office Spokesperson criticized India’s attempt to portray Pakistan as a source of regional instability, terming such accusations as ‘divorced from reality.’

‘The international community is well aware of India’s aggressive posture and documented support for terrorist activities inside Pakistan. No amount of hollow narratives or diversionary tactics can obscure these facts,’ the Spokesperson said.

Highlighting the Jammu and Kashmir dispute as the central issue threatening peace in South Asia, the Spokesperson reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for a just and lasting resolution in accordance with United Nations Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

‘To sidestep this fundamental issue is to condemn the region to continued mistrust and potential confrontation,’ the statement added.

The Spokesperson emphasized that recent developments have once again demonstrated the futility of jingoism and coercive diplomacy. ‘India cannot and will not achieve its objectives through threats, misrepresentation, or force.’

Reaffirming Islamabad’s commitment to peace and constructive dialogue, the Spokesperson warned that Pakistan will resolutely defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity against any form of aggression.

‘Durable peace in South Asia demands maturity, restraint, and a willingness to address the root causes of conflict-not the pursuit of narrow political gains at the expense of regional harmony,’ the statement concluded.
