Pakistan Condemns Al-Aqsa Mosque Compound Incursion

Pakistan today vehemently condemned the recent intrusion into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, where unauthorised Israeli residents reportedly raised the flag of the occupying power within its courtyard.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi stated that these actions represent a flagrant breach of international law and a disregard for the sacredness and inviolability of the holy site.

Such provocative steps, Mr. Andrabi added, carry the risk of further heightening tensions across the region.

The spokesperson called for all possible measures to safeguard holy sites currently under Israeli occupation and to end the freedom from punishment afforded to illegal settlers operating under its patronage.

Pakistan, he reaffirmed, continues to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people, reiterating its steadfast backing for their right to worship. The nation further restated its commitment to the establishment of an independent, viable, and contiguous State of Palestine.

This proposed state, Pakistan clarified, should be based on the pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif designated as its capital.
