Islamabad: Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, has affirmed Pakistan's unwavering commitment to fostering interfaith harmony, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence across the nation. He made these remarks while meeting with the Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, during a session in Islamabad today.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister highlighted the reactivation of Interfaith Harmony Committees at national, provincial, and district levels, aiming to unite religious scholars from various faiths on a unified platform. This initiative is part of a broader effort to promote unity and understanding among different religious communities in the country.

During the meeting, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad underscored the responsibility of religious scholars and leaders to lead efforts in eliminating extremism and hatred. He emphasized the importance of building bridges of understanding and dialogue among followers of different faiths, viewing it as both a religious and national duty.

The session also saw the participation of renowned international preacher and interfaith scholar, Dr. Leif Hetland, who contributed to the discussions on enhancing interfaith relationships and promoting peace and tolerance.
