Pakistan commemorates Youm-e-Istehsal to support Kashmiris

Pakistan commemorates the sixth anniversary of India’s 2019 actions in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), termed ‘Youm-e-Istehsal’.

The nation’s highest officials, including the President, Prime Minister, and Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister, reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast backing for the Kashmir cause. They advocated for a resolution aligned with UN resolutions and the Kashmiri people’s wishes. These leaders emphasized that India’s measures since 2019 seek to marginalize Kashmiris in their homeland.

The Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister communicated with key international figures, including the UN Secretary-General and the OIC Secretary-General, to update them on the IIOJK situation. He pressed for the enforcement of UN resolutions to empower Kashmiris to decide their future and highlighted the need to address human rights concerns and free detained Kashmiri political leaders.

On August 4, 2025, the Foreign Secretary briefed Islamabad-based diplomats on the legal, security, and human rights facets of the Kashmir dispute, focusing on recent developments.

A solidarity march took place in Islamabad this morning, led by the Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister, with participation from ministry staff and citizens. Nationwide events, including rallies, seminars, and exhibitions, are planned. Pakistani and Kashmiri diaspora communities globally are organizing events to raise awareness about alleged Indian oppression in IIOJK.
