Pakistan Calls for Renewed Dialogue to Stabilize South Sudan

Pakistan has issued a strong appeal at the United Nations for a reinvigorated political dialogue aimed at bringing stability to South Sudan, emphasizing the critical need for the full implementation of the nation”s peace agreement.

According to an official information today, the plea was articulated by Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, during his address to a UN Security Council meeting convened to discuss the ongoing situation in the African nation.

In his remarks, the Ambassador underscored the vital responsibility of the Security Council and the wider international community to ensure sustained political commitment from all parties involved.

Furthermore, he stressed the importance of providing the necessary resources to support critical operations, specifically highlighting the ongoing requirements for peacekeeping missions and addressing pressing humanitarian needs within the country.
