Islamabad: Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan highlighted the pivotal role of the Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) between Pakistan and Belarus as a key mechanism for identifying mutual priorities, reviewing progress, and guiding strategic cooperation between the nations. Speaking at the 9th Session of the Pakistan-Belarus Joint Ministerial Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation in Islamabad, he emphasized that the Joint Trade Commission is central to the bilateral partnership.

According to Radio Pakistan, Jam Kamal underscored the value of Pakistan's longstanding friendship with Belarus, a relationship rooted in mutual trust and shared commitment to constructive engagement. Since establishing diplomatic ties, both countries have expanded their cooperation beyond political understanding to include trade, industry, education, healthcare, and other sectors.

Jam Kamal noted the steady growth of bilateral ties, despite geographical distance, driven by a shared aspiration for economic progress and sustainable development. He proposed the creation of a joint working group on trade to facilitate regular dialogue and explore new commercial opportunities. The Minister also highlighted the significant growth in labour and human resource development, supported by the Labour and Employment Agreement.

Further, Jam Kamal stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation in agriculture, food security, seed certification, and agricultural technology. He expressed optimism about proposed collaborations in agriculture machinery testing, healthcare, vocational training, and technology, which aim to boost productivity and market confidence.
