Pakistan has officially thrown its full support behind a new Chinese initiative at the United Nations, endorsing the “Group of Friends of Global Governance” established by President Xi Jinping.

According to an official information today, speaking at the group”s inaugural meeting, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, Pakistan”s Permanent Representative to the UN, conveyed his nation”s commendation for what he termed China”s steadfast commitment to international cooperation.

The ambassador highlighted Beijing”s efforts to reinvigorate multilateral diplomacy through the formation of the new body. The high-level endorsement was further echoed by Pakistan”s Prime Minister, who characterized the launch as a “historic step toward strengthening the multilateral system.”

According to the premier”s statement, the initiative is positioned to better address the contemporary challenges of peace and development currently facing humanity.
