Pakistan and Russia have solidified a significant agreement to enhance strategic, economic, and energy cooperation, signaling a deepening of bilateral relations following a high-level intergovernmental meeting in the capital.
According to an official information today, the accord was finalized at the conclusion of the tenth meeting of the Russia-Pakistan Intergovernmental Commission, a three-day summit co-chaired by Pakistan’s Power Minister Awais Leghari and his Russian counterpart, Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev.
A key component of the enhanced partnership involves a mutual decision to proceed with test cargo shipments along the eastern route of the North-South International Transport Corridor.
This logistical initiative is specifically aimed at boosting regional connectivity, a move expected to facilitate greater trade and integration in the area.
