Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar received a telephone call from his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi today. The two leaders expressed grave concern over the worsening situation in Palestine, particularly the continued Israeli military actions in Gaza and the Occupied West Bank, including intensified air strikes, ongoing ground operations, and escalating settler violence.

According to Radio Pakistan, they strongly condemned the repeated mass incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem by Israeli settlers and far-right groups and the restrictions imposed on Palestinian worshippers. They stressed that such provocative actions violate the sanctity of the holy site, inflame tensions, and undermine prospects for peace.

They also discussed Jordan's proposal to convene a meeting of a group of Arab and Islamic countries to take stock of the evolving situation and coordinate diplomatic efforts and responses. Ayman Safadi appreciated Pakistan's constructive role and efforts for regional peace and stability and expressed hope for positive outcomes from the ongoing diplomatic initiatives.

Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Pakistan's unwavering support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and a just, lasting, and comprehensive peace through the implementation of the two-State solution, with the establishment of an independent State of Palestine, based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
