Islamabad: Pakistan and Indonesia have reaffirmed their commitment to bolstering bilateral naval cooperation through enhanced training, reciprocal visits, and joint naval exercises. This commitment was solidified during a meeting between Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf and Chief of the Indonesian Navy Admiral Dr. Muhammad Ali in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, the discussions during the meeting covered topics of mutual interest, regional maritime security, and ways to improve bilateral naval cooperation. Admiral Dr. Muhammad Ali expressed appreciation for the Pakistan Navy's efforts and initiatives towards ensuring regional maritime security.

Upon his arrival at the Naval Headquarters, the visiting dignitary was honored with a Guard of Honour and laid a floral wreath at the Shuhada Monument. The visit included interactions with Pakistan Navy Field Commanders and the Managing Director of Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works. Furthermore, Admiral Dr. Muhammad Ali visited Pakistan Navy Fleet Units and the Joint Maritime Information Coordination Centre in Karachi.

The visit is expected to further fortify defense and naval cooperation between the two nations, emphasizing their shared interest in maintaining a secure maritime environment.
