Pakistan and Bahrain Set Ambitious $1 Billion Trade Goal

Islamabad:Pakistan and Bahrain have established a target to increase their bilateral trade volume to one billion dollars, as stated by Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar.

According to Radio Pakistan, Dar made this announcement during the third meeting of the Pakistan-Bahrain Joint Ministerial Commission in Islamabad. He emphasized the ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral ties and expand cooperation across various sectors.

Dar highlighted the completion of fifty-five years of diplomatic relations between the two countries, expressing a commitment to maintaining high-level contacts and collaboration. He stressed the importance of concerted efforts from both nations to achieve the trade targets via business-to-business and government-to-government connections.

He noted that approximately 134,000 Pakistanis currently reside in Bahrain and underscored the need to facilitate the movement of skilled Pakistani workers to Bahrain. Furthermore, Dar expressed satisfaction with the mutual support between the countries at multilateral forums and expressed a desire to broaden cooperation in various sectors.

Bahrain's Foreign Minister, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, also expressed his country's interest in bolstering ties with Pakistan, particularly in the political, defense, security, economic, and investment fields. He mentioned that the two nations would celebrate fifty-five years of diplomatic relations on October 14, noting the significant momentum gained through high-level visits.
