Pakistan, ADB Forge Path for YouthDriven Climate Initiatives

In a highlevel meeting today, Pakistan”s Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, Dr Musadik Malik, and Asian Development Bank (ADB) Director General Bruno Carrasco charted a strategic course to bolster Pakistan’s climate resilience and environmental sustainability.

Both leaders committed to a robust country strategy and climate policy framework, with a significant emphasis on empowering youthled climate initiatives through incubation, mentorship, and funding.

The dialogue highlighted the potential for joint ventures in climate financing and explored avenues for partnerships in carbon credit markets. Minister Malik emphasized the importance of transitioning from planning to actionable steps, assuring full cooperation to achieve the agreed outcomes.

Additionally, both parties agreed to collaborate on knowledge projects and capacitybuilding workshops aimed at increasing public awareness and institutional effectiveness regarding climate issues.
