Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has said Pak-Saudi relationships are on the upward trajectory and bilateral ties are getting stronger with every passing day.

Talking to media here in Islamabad on Wednesday, he said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a very important meeting with the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman during his recently concluded visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

He said it was the fifth meeting with the Crown Prince in a short span of five months, which indicates the warmth in the relationships between the two countries.

The Minister said Saudi Arabia is going to invest billions of dollars in Pakistan’s economy. He said several projects have already been launched including opening of petrol pumps by the Saudi Company Aramco.

He said discussions are also taking place with regard to launching Saudi Arabia’s fast-food chain Albaik in Pakistan. Attaullah Tarar said Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman considers Pakistanis as their brothers and believes that there is no limit of Saudi investments in Pakistan.

He said the Saudi leadership has expressed satisfaction on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his team for their dedication to materialize agreed upon projects and Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs).

Attaullah Tarar said more delegations from Saudi Arabia are expected to come to Pakistan, which will lead to increase in investments and bilateral trade. He said both nations have consistently supported one another during challenging times.

He said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, during his visit, conveyed his best wishes to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and they also agreed to enhance bilateral investments and trade.

The Information Minister said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif presented Pakistan’s viewpoint during the water summit and also discussed the Indus Water Treaty.
