Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal today declared the Pak-China collaboration as a significant endeavor that promises benefits for future generations.

Speaking at an event celebrating the Chinese Spring Festival in Islamabad, he emphasized the impending commencement of major projects, including the Karakoram Highway phase two and ML-1.

Iqbal highlighted the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a catalyst for opportunities in manufacturing, agriculture, Information Technology, and tourism. These initiatives, he stated, are expected to drive economic diversification, create jobs, and boost Pakistan’s competitiveness on the global stage.

Iqbal explained that the focus of CPEC’s second phase is on business-to-business cooperation to unlock economic potential. He described CPEC as a symbol of enduring friendship, providing a roadmap for sustainable development and growth not only for Pakistan and China but for the wider region.

He also expressed gratitude to the Chinese leadership for their support of CPEC’s vision. Iqbal assured that measures are being taken to ensure the safety of Chinese nationals in Pakistan, highlighting it as a priority for the government.
