Islamabad: Adviser to the Finance Minister Khurram Schehzad announced that more than fifty billion rupees have been disbursed under the Prime Minister's Apna Ghar Programme. In a recent post on his X handle, Schehzad emphasized the growing momentum in the country's affordable housing finance sector.

According to Radio Pakistan, Schehzad highlighted that as of the latest data available till last Friday, over sixty thousand cases have been approved under the programme, with an approval rate of thirty-eight point five percent. The current focus, he stated, is on accelerating the disbursement process and transforming approvals into actual homes. Efforts are being made to simplify mortgage finance, making it more accessible to Pakistani families.

Schehzad also noted the broader economic impact of housing finance, which extends to supporting various sectors such as construction, cement, steel, allied industries, SMEs, and job creation.
