In yet another incident of suppression of dissent in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, a disturbing video has emerged from the Central University of Kashmir (CUK) in Ganderbal district, showcasing a security guard aggressively manhandling a student during a protest against a recent fee hike.
According to Kashmir Media Service report on Thursday, the incident occurred at the Tulmulla campus when students, discontented with the fee increase, sought an audience with the Vice Chancellor to express their grievances. Eyewitnesses recounted that security personnel intervened on orders to prevent the students from meeting the VC.
In a shocking turn of events, the security guard forcefully pushed a protesting student down a flight of stairs from the first floor to the ground floor of the campus. The incident, captured on camera, has sparked widespread outrage on social media, condemning the excessive use of force.
‘The actions of the security guard were reprehensible and have been met with widespread condemnation,’ voiced one of the students who witnessed the incident. ‘Our protest was peaceful, aimed only at highlighting the unjust fee hikes imposed on us when this violent incident occured.’
