ISLAMABAD:Pakistan has maintained a firm position and traditionally played an active role in steering the Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) response to all the important issues.
This was stated by the Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the OIC Ambassador Syed Mohammad Fawad Sher during a meeting with Organization’s Secretary-General Hissein Brahim Taha in Jeddah, according to a Radio Pakistan’s report.
On the occasion, a wide range of issues facing Muslim world including Islamophobia were also discussed. The envoy thanked the Secretary General’s unwavering support to the Kashmir cause.
He urged for complete implementation of OIC Plan of Action on Jammu and Kashmir adopted by 48th Session of Council of Foreign Ministers in Islamabad.
On repeated incidents of desecration of Holy Quran, he reiterated Pakistan’s strong condemnation of these despicable incidents.
The Secretary General appreciated the Pakistan’s robust engagement with the OIC and its effective participation in addressing the challenges confronting the Muslim world.
