Ministry of Human Rights’ Parliamentary Secretary Mrs Saba Sadiq on Thursday visited the Transgender Protection Centre Islamabad, along with Director Social Welfare Arif Shamim.

Mrs Saba Sadiq took briefing on the key functions and activities of the Transgender Protection Centre. She also held meeting with the groups of Transgender Persons and assured to resolve their issues.

The Parliamentary Secretary stressed the officers to provide immediate healthcare facilities, rehabilitation, and referral services to the Transgender Persons.

She also stressed to formulate a uniform policy in the light of provisions of Transgender Act, and same may be shared with the provinces for the effective implementation of the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights Act, 2018).
