The UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has said that the world is one misstep from devastating nuclear war and in peril not seen since the Cold War.

In his opening remarks at 10th Non-proliferation Treaty Review Conference in New York, he warned that the world has been extraordinarily lucky so far, amid rising global tensions and that the “humanity is just one misunderstanding, one miscalculation away from nuclear annihilation.
