No firing by security personnel on PTI protestors: Info Minister

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has once again categorically stated that no firing was carried out by the security personnel on the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protestors.

Talking to the foreign media here in Islamabad on Thursday along with Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, he said the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and Polyclinic hospital have denied receiving any bodies or gunshot wound victims.

The Information Minister said the PTI miscreants were armed with latest weaponry and they tried to breach the red zone and wreak havoc.

Attaullah Tarar said the security forces were there to protect the sanctity of the capital. He said there was no reason behind the protest, emphasizing the government has nothing to do with the cases of PTI’s founder.

The Minister for Planning and Development said the PTI founder is not a political prisoner. He is facing serious charges on the basis of which no politician, public office holder or celebrity in the western world will be allowed to go scot free.

Referring to the May 9, Ahsan Iqbal said no democratic country would allow any group to attack their military installations of state institutions in the name of freedom of expression or action.

He regretted that the PTI has always used their workers as a fodder for their political designs.
