Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has said there is no ambiguity regarding the medical treatment of PTI founding chairman but the government will file a review petition regarding treatment at a private hospital.
According to Radio Pakistan, during a media talk along with Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry in Islamabad today, Attaullah Tarar stated that the review petition would seek clarity on whether the right to treatment at private hospitals is available to all prisoners. He emphasized that the PML-N has never politicised health issues, although he regretted that PTI members have historically politicised the health of PML-N leadership.
Attaullah Tarar reiterated that every prisoner has the right to receive healthcare facilities as per the Constitution and the law. He assured that the PTI founding chairman had been provided healthcare facilities in the past and would continue to have access to necessary medical treatment.
Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry also spoke on the occasion, noting that the Supreme Court has given relief to the PTI founding chairman, and the government has no objections to this decision. He affirmed that the government and state institutions are collaborating to address and overcome the country's challenges.
