The National Disaster Management Authority’s (NDMA) National Emergencies Operation Center (NEOC) on Saturday issued a weather projection that cold and dry weather conditions are anticipated in most parts of the Punjab, accompanied by smog and fog in the plains until December 26, 2024.
However, the Potohar region, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, and northeastern parts of the province, may experience cloudy weather with chances of isolated rainfall from December 23rd to 24th, 2024.
Whereas cold and dry weather is expected across the Balochistan and Sindh throughout the forecast period, from December 21st to 26th, 2024.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province is expected to experience cold weather during the week. However, isolated rainfall is likely in most parts, with chances of snowfall over hilly areas.
Whereas Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir to experience mainly cold weather while isolated rain and snowfall over the hills are expected during the forecast period.
The NDMA advised local authorities, emergency responders, and the public to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions.
Residents in northern and hilly areas should exercise caution while traveling due to the risk of slippery roads and reduced visibility.
