Nationwide AntiPolio Drive Targets 45.4 Million Children

A nationwide antipolio campaign commenced today, aiming to vaccinate 45.4 million children under the age of five. The initiative was inaugurated by Ayesha Raza Farooq, the Prime Minister’s Focal Person for Polio Eradication, who emphasized the national commitment to eradicating the disease.

During the inauguration in Islamabad, Farooq highlighted the significance of this drive as a national duty. She reiterated the government’s dedication to eliminating polio from the country.

In Punjab, the police have committed to providing security for polio teams as they carry out their mission. The Punjab Police urged citizens to ensure their children receive the vaccine, underscoring the importance of protection against polio.

In Karachi, following directives from Additional IG Javed Alam Odho, the DIG Admin instructed officers to ensure complete security for the teams. Provisions for water and other necessities were also arranged to support the workers and police during the campaign.

A Karachi Police spokesperson emphasized the essential role of the police in this national effort, urging officers to fulfill their duties with dedication and a sense of national spirit.
