National – US Envoy’s Remarks on Israeli Control of Arab Lands Spark Widespread Outrage

A powerful coalition of 14 nations and three major international organisations has issued a fierce condemnation of recent statements by the United States Ambassador to Israel, denouncing the envoy’s suggestion that Israeli control over occupied Arab territories, including the West Bank, would be acceptable.

In a joint statement released today, the foreign ministers expressed their profound concern over the diplomat’s comments, describing them as dangerous and inflammatory. The communiqué was collectively issued by Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Trkiye, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Lebanon, Syria, and Palestine.

The secretariats of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the League of Arab States (LAS), and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) also co-signed the declaration, signifying a broad front of opposition to the ambassador”s position.

The group affirmed their categorical rejection of the remarks, labelling them a flagrant violation of the principles of international law and the United Nations Charter. They warned that such pronouncements pose a grave threat to the security and stability of the entire region.

The ministries stressed that the ambassador”s comments directly contradict the vision outlined by U.S. President Donald J. Trump and the Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict. They noted these initiatives were designed to contain escalation and establish a political path towards a comprehensive settlement ensuring an independent Palestinian state.

It was underscored that remarks seeking to legitimise control over the lands of others actively undermine the core objectives of promoting tolerance and peaceful coexistence, instead serving to fuel tensions and constitute incitement rather than advancing peace.

The signatories reaffirmed that Israel holds no sovereignty whatsoever over the Occupied Palestinian Territory or any other occupied Arab lands. They reiterated their firm opposition to any attempts to annex the West Bank, separate it from the Gaza Strip, or expand settlement activities.

Furthermore, the nations warned that the continuation of Israel’s expansionist policies and unlawful measures would only inflame violence and conflict, thereby damaging the prospects for a lasting peace, and called for an immediate end to such incendiary statements.

The statement concluded by underscoring the countries’ steadfast commitment to the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, the establishment of their independent state along the lines of 4 June 1967, and the end of the occupation of all Arab lands.
