Omar Abdullah, Vice President of the National Conference (NC), has sharply criticized the BJP’s latest budget, calling it a ‘coalition bachao budget’ that neglected the pressing needs of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

According to Kashmir Media Service, in an interview, Omar Abdullah said that ‘coalition compulsions’ were visible in the BJP-led NDA government’s third term under Narendra Modi.

The NC leader pointed out that the budget fails to address the severe issues in IIOJK, saying there is nothing in this budget for the occupied territory. He emphasized the severe issues faced by the people of IIOJK, including the highest unemployment rates and a regression in development. He noted the lack of visible investment and the dire need for basic necessities like water and electricity.

‘Investment was promised, but we don’t see it on the ground anywhere. Today, people are screaming for water and electricity, so the sum total of our problems in Jammu and Kashmir has increased’, he said.
