Pakistan”s military leaders, including Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Chief of Naval Staff, and Chief of Air Staff, paid tribute to Havildar Lalak Jan Shaheed, recipient of the Nishan-e-Haider, on the anniversary of his death. The ISPR, in a declaration, recounted Havildar Lalak Jan”s valor during the 1999 Kargil conflict.

On this day, he single-handedly fought off numerous enemy assaults on his position despite being gravely wounded. He declined evacuation, continuing to battle until he was martyred, demonstrating exceptional devotion and self-sacrifice.

The armed forces reiterated their dedication to the cause of the Shuhada-e-Pakistan and pledged to uphold the memory of the fallen. Havildar Lalak Jan”s bravery serves as an inspiration to both current and prospective members of Pakistan”s military.
