ISLAMABAD: Bishop of Lahore, Nadeem Kamran called on Federal Minister for Law and Justice, Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar here in Islamabad on Wednesday.
During the meeting, he apprised the Minister about the problems being faced by the Christian community including reservations over census and the current voting system. He suggested that registration of the Christian community should be made according to the population and necessary electoral reforms are required in this regard. He also gave proposals regarding age limit for marriage.
The Bishop also discussed in detail to make Christian Marriage Registration System functional in the country particularly in the federal capital. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister for Law assured the Bishop of Lahore that more step will be taken to resolve issues of faced by the Christian community.
Azam Nazeer Tarar further assured that proposals and reservations over electoral reforms will be presented to the Parliamentary Electoral Reforms Committee. He also congratulated Nadeem Kamran on his election as the 10th Bishop of Lahore Church of Pakistan.
