NAB’s Landmark Recovery: Over Rs88 Billion Retrieved and Disbursed in Q1 2025

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has announced substantial progress, recovering and disbursing over 88 billion rupees during the first quarter of 2025, according to a press release on Saturday.

These recoveries encompassed both direct and indirect financial returns, with the funds subsequently returned to the affected entities.

The direct recoveries exceeded two billion rupees, while indirect recoveries amounted to 86 billion rupees. These funds were primarily reclaimed from cases involving illegal transfer and occupation of public and private lands. NAB Balochistan played a pivotal role by retrieving state land in Chiltan Park and Forest department, translating into 6.45 billion rupees.

In Lahore, the bureau successfully recouped 70.87 billion rupees from three major cases, including the Employees Cooperative Housing Society and Sarwar Omega Villas. Additionally, NAB Multan and NAB Sukkur contributed by recovering significant amounts from housing schemes and NHA lands, respectively.

Concerning direct disbursements, NAB ensured the transfer of 9.72 million rupees to the Federal Government, 10.80 million rupees to provincial authorities, and 73.51 million rupees to various departments and financial institutions. Furthermore, a notable sum of 1990.771 million rupees was directly distributed to over nineteen thousand scam victims.

These achievements resulted from plea bargains, voluntary returns, and settlements, reinforcing NAB’s commitment to recovering embezzled public funds and promoting a corruption-free Pakistan.
