NAB Recovers Government Land Illegally Allotted to Bahria Town in Hyderabad

Karachi: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Karachi has successfully recovered 80 acres of valuable government land worth approximately six billion rupees that had been illegally allotted to Bahria Town in the Gulistan-e-Sarmast Housing Scheme of Hyderabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, the land, situated at a prime location in Hyderabad, was allotted to Bahria Town at a significantly undervalued price of 383 million rupees, which was also defaulted. The company further failed to comply with the terms and conditions of the allotment, including the establishment of a university.

Following the intervention by NAB Karachi, Hyderabad Development Authority cancelled the allotment and repossessed the land, along with forfeiture of the partially paid amount by Bahria Town. The recovery is being seen as a significant step towards protecting public assets and ensuring transparency in land allotment processes.
